Microwave-Assisted Extraction of Phenolic Compounds from Pineapple Peel Using Deep Eutectic Solvents

نویسندگان

چکیده

Approximately half of the world’s pineapple production is marketed as a processed product, leading to generation significant quantity industrial waste, mainly composed peels, cores, and crowns. This study evaluated deep eutectic solvents (DESs) for assisted microwave extraction phenolic compounds from peels their antioxidant capacity. DESs are considered environmentally friendly characterized by low toxicity high capacity bioactive compounds. (choline chloride-glycerol choline-chloride-malic acid) were used compound compared with traditional such water, ethanol, methanol, ethanol-water (50%), methanol-water (50%). A higher concentration was achieved using choline than an solvent (7.98 mg eq gallic acid/g dry weight). In all treatments, 85%. The process variables (drying temperature, time, solvent/solid ratio) optimized solvent. It found that drying temperature 67 °C, time 87 s, ratio 60.5 mL/g allow maximizing content extract.

Deep eutectic solvents as novel extraction media for phenolic compounds from model oil.

Deep eutectic solvents (DES) as a new kind of green solvent were used for the first time to excellently extract phenolic compounds from model oil. It was also proved that DES could be used to extract other polar compounds from non-polar or weakly-polar solvents by liquid-phase microextraction.

Microwave assisted extraction of phenolic compounds from four different spices.

Spices and herbs are known not only for their taste, aroma and flavour, but also for their medical properties and value. Both spices and herbs have been used for centuries in traditional medical systems to cure various kinds of illnesses such as common cold, diabetes, cough and cancers. The aim of this work was the comparison between two different extractive techniques in order to get qualitati...

Optimization of microwave assisted extraction of pectin from orange peel.

In this study, microwave-assisted extraction was applied for pectin extraction from the dried orange peel and Box-Behnken response surface design was used to study and optimize the effects of processing variables (microwave power, irradiation time, pH and solid-liquid ratio) on the yield of pectin. The amount of pectin extracted increased with increasing microwave power, while it reduces as the...

Natural deep eutectic solvents as a new extraction media for phenolic metabolites in Carthamus tinctorius L.

Developing green solvents with low toxicity and cost is an important issue for the biochemical industry. Synthetic ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents have received considerable attention due to their negligible volatility at room temperature, high solubilization ability, and tunable selectivity. However, the potential toxicity of the synthetic ionic liquids and the solid state at room tem...
